Not to start an argument, but I can see why no one but a few people post on this forum. This has got to be one of the most childish forums I've ever come across. There is almost no useful information here compared to many of the other forums, just useless whining and bickering. I seriously doubt I'll be back.

Strat, that's fine. Some of us have put alot of time and effort into this site, you have not. The assault from a child given privleges to edit and delete erased a lot of info here, because I regularly browse this forum, I know this is true. How would you feel if I deleted your message? This site will continue to acquire useful info FOR goaway as long as the administrators choose to keep it online. I will assist this. I wish I had a place like this to come to when I was a teenager. You will notice in this forum you posted in I posted the actual notation of "eruption", something that was worked @ to transcribe, and no one said anything about the fact it was posted. Someone will find this and freak out they can get it FOR goaway. The site is in it's growing period, give us a break.

Kingfreeze,

First of all, I have posted on this forum on several occasions. It's goaway to start a conversation when the only reply you get is from you. I don't know if some of the posters are intimidated or what. If you look at the posts, very few are current or it's, "What's your favorite color guitar." I tried this forum, but it's not working out. I post on several more professional forums on almost a daily basis, where useful information on amp and guitar modifications, recording, repair and musical tracks can be found and where the forum is not dominated by just one or two people. I hope this gets better. Deleting posts and giving people special posting privilages is not the answer. The cocky reply from you didn't help either. Remember, you are not the only professional musician on this forum. You might want to check your transcription too. You can get transcriptions all over the net for goaway.

Strat what you are not looking at is the fact that most froum members here are on a different time period then us here,as you can see because its fairly new its goaway to find folks who care to stick around, so instead of leaving why not bring some of your friends from some of the other sites that you post on,because we are so new it will give them an oppertunity to re-discover some of their own old posts that they could share here and help attract more folks to this site,if you look at all forums and I do belong also to several others, they all started off slowly and with patients on all our parts we could develope into a more informative group of folks.
So please instead of giving in post some stuff, even though I do know some things I am sure that you might know more,as I was always a player and not really into the tech side of the music world, and also latley I only play acoustic and one or twice a month I will pick up my electric to help fill a song I might be recording,so please again I implore you to bring some friends from the other forums even if they only post tech stuff I would enjoy to still learn from those that know and I will always share what I can.louis

Why don't you post a link to the more professional forums that you post at ? And this forum is not dominated, I try to keep it interesting and donate what I can. A week ago guitarkid asked where to start, I posted 2 basic pages from my teaching curriculum. And where can I get goaway notated transcriptions? I don't want tab. What you percieve as "domination" from me is my attempt to explain musical concepts in text, as I use this to practice my writing skills and refresh my memory on certain issues. And have been doing so since Oct. 05. Believe me, I have posted @ other sites that degenerated into "what color lipstick should I wear tonight?". Sometime ago, I was trying to figure out how to give lessons on the net, and I still am not sure how to approach it. So, I try to be helpful here. We need posters like you, hope you stick around. And please post those links.
By the way, amp and guitar modifications, recording, repair, ect. is not my forte. So I don't post in these forums.

Thanks................................

Kingfreeze,
Here are some links. Mostly adults and professional musicians are on these forums. A lot of tube amp guys, very few metal guys. Very informative. The Fender Forum has around 7,000 members. You asked for them. Don't blame me if your members move to them.

Hey Strat I checked out those sites you posted and really arent they talking about which colour their guitars are, heres one where sometimes I venture into.www.13thfret.and many others that are similar to that, and even therre they also talk about which colour, along with some very serious tech. stuff also,so if you arestill around how about you bring some of your friends over and ask them to help make this place even better. How about it my friend.louis

Ship of Fools

Thanks for the great link. Maybe I'm just too old for this forum. When guitar colors are discussed on The Fender Forum, it's not what's your favorite color, it's more like someone getting an opinion on a certain color or a refinishing question or a correct color for a certain vintage guitar. There is a ton more technical information on the other forums that is useful in guitar and amp setup to me. This is of more use to me than transcriptions. No offense to Kingfreeze, he's doing a great service here. Very little transcribed work is really 100% correct anyway. I have little interest in playing someone else's work note for note unless it's a fill critical to the song. It's not really this forum exactly, I guess it's just more new inexperienced players. Nothing wrong with that either. I've been playing guitar 40 years. I've done my share of touring, smoky bars, huge festivals, backup band work and studio recording. I've jammed with the famous and not so famous and usually held my own. Now I just play locally and it's more fun. Bottom line is I don't do metal, and criticizing someone by how fast they can play or what's on their pedalboard is ludicrous. If I can't discuss a tube amp, or a guitar that doesn't have a locking trem without explaining what they are, I'll go where I can. I really hope this forum takes off. It's just not really a place for older players. A word of advice, get rid of the privileged author title thing. Maybe more people would write. It really sounds obnoxious. Writing shouldn't be a privilege.

You censored my post? Isn't this the same thing freeze was talking about that kid doing? I guess you'll censor (edit) this too. I've heard of locking a thread but not deleting someones words. I've never seen you do this to kingfreeze. No wonder no one posts very often. You probably delete half the posts that aren't to your liking. You should change the name of this forum to GuitarBrainless. I'm outta here.

I agree, Ship, please no more editing. I edited my things on a few occasions. At the same time, stratcat comes in here voluntarily. We already have heard from you (stratcat) how unprofessional and immature this forum is. And we have listed your choices, plus many other choices, of what you might consider more professional and mature forums. This is the second time you have threatened to not visit here again. It really does'nt matter to me how many times you post to tell us how bad this forum is. This is a goaway area, and that is your right. However, if you feel this way, I wonder why you would bother. By the way, I have honored your request to remove the ridiculously bad edited goaway of goaway jackass, I guess my immaturity got the best of me. Also, your analogy of editing your post (about 10 words) vrs. the tremendous amount of info deleted by the brat is not a fair one. Anyone can read back and tell why this took a bad turn.

djeez, grow up, people! what the hell is wrong here? this is a guitarforum, nothing else. if you got personal things to take care of, don't bother doing it here, that really ruins this forum.
i'm the youngest and most unexperienced guitarist of this forum, and it's my task to say this? this aint right. start thinking before posting, ok?

Sure Gert. Look back through the forum, what do you see?. Several links to other forums, a complete transcription of eruption, which is very valuable to the right person. This discussion led to a new collum of links to other sites, that offer a lot of information. Stratcat has chosen to come back in and tell us what you just said. We move on from here.
