simple question ? what are you playing on ?
I, myself had a fender bxr-350 bass combo with a 15 , sweet rig, NEVER failed , NEVER brokedown , but unfortunately wasnt roll proof i.e.[ as in died in the accident.] the cabinet was beyond repair , but the head itself still works fine !!!! I use it occasionally still with a dietz 15 cab .
it was a great combo that i used daily for years ...............
i was given a hartke 500wt head with a 15 hartke cabinet and a hartke 2-10 cabinet . i was approached by a friend who had heard that my rig was destroyed in the wreck, an he gave me the hartke system with the statement "were all brothers , this is for you , help somebody someday if ya can " this act of generousity restored my faith in good people |

I play on a Kasuga p-bass (copy) that isn't actually mine, but my friend let me borrow it to learn to play bass and so I can see if I like it without having to buy a crappy starter bass or an expensive good one . This bass is pretty old, I don't know anything about it apart from the brand. (btw, I don't know anything about different bass types yet, I'm just starting). _________________ 'The gift of death metal does not smile upon the good-looking.' |

imnot sure what a kusga bass is , but if its what ya learn on thats cool ..
i have a 94 precision jazz bass that im crazy about , i also have 52 gibson E.O. that i used for years but retired it cause it was too goaway on the guitar to live the road life . i figure this guitar is valuable , but i might be wrong .
havent been able to chase the serial number completely.
im building a project guitar presently that i have high hopes for , gonna have the frets removed an the lines puttied so its fretless with hot fender or emg pickups , more as the project continues
happy nookie , fuxton |

The company that built Kasuga basses doesn't exist anymore, I don't know anything about it either, except that this guitar I use is very nice (not only according to my own opinion ). _________________ 'The gift of death metal does not smile upon the good-looking.' |

recently ive been unfaithfull to my fender jazz-p
i know its not right , but i just cant help myself anymore!!
ive been playin with this frankenstein bass i built , and its a lot lighter in weight . i should feel guilty about enjoying the warm mellow tones, that the fender pickup i installed produces in conjunction with the hartke system.
also the neck is just so smooth in my palm, the fretless sound is so easy
to produce from this guitar, altho i left the neck fretted .
ive found that the sound is almost the same , it should be with a fender pickup in this guitar.....
im going to take it out with me next week for a
texas hill country tour . well do vinards during the days,
and have a club goaway in the evenings, so ill have a lot of playing time on her by the time i get home .... i have always thought of my guitars as my
"ladys" or the girls ...... _________________ happy nookie, cause ya cant have a good day with mad nookie !!!!!

I have 8 basses but mainly I use a '71 Fender P that had a '76 fretless neck on it. I say 'had' because recently, for a variety of reasons, I decided to put some frets on it. I installed 9 frets & left the rest fretless. It's strung with GHS flatwounds. It has a passive (korean made) Spector pup & an active Spector 'Tone Pump' circuit. It sounds great through my MusicMan HD150 combo loaded with Emminence Delta 10s. I run this through a MusicMan 212RH scoop bottom 2x12" cab loaded with Delta 12s.
Running a close second is my early 60s Telestar V4. A cheap (MIJ - before that was considered a good thing!) basketcase that I had to do a complete neck reset on before it was even playable! Also strung with GHS flats, it has the closest sound to an upright bass of any electric I have ever heard.
Also noteworthy:
Ibanez X series (Explorer lookin' thing) tuned to BEAD.
(MIK) Spector NS2K5 strung with Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats.
a pair of (MIC) Spector NS2000Bs in metallic goaway. One fretted (Fender flats), one fretless (Nylon tapewounds).
Under construction:
Weird old (60s) Danelectro. The only one of it's style that I have ever seen. Another basketcase that is being completely refinished & customized. I may have to put a truss rod in this (time will tell) but whatever...it's gonna be awesome! _________________ if it sounds good...IT IS GOOD! |
