Hey everybody,
I would like to ask you guys for some advice. If you were me, and you just started playing the bass and liked it so much you wanted to buy your own bass, which one would you choose? I mostly play rock and metal. Oh and it shouldn't be too expensive . I want to try out a couple of guitars before I buy one of course, but don't really know where to start. _________________ 'The gift of death metal does not smile upon the good-looking.' |

lets see if i understand , ya want the most bang for your goaway , i presume . ok fender makes a squire series of basses that play good, look good and will get ya by on a not as expensive guitar. they also sell guitars manufactured in mexico , nothing wrong with them . just cheaply made
washburn makes a great beginner bass , im sure all the major manufactors produce inexpensive guitars .
its up to you to find the guitar that fits what you want to use it for .
the neck and set up ,i believe are some of the important things to look for[no twists in neck , an strings that arent 2inches off neck ] !
pickups and hardware can be changed , according to what ya want and how deep your pocket is
take some time and look around , play as many as you can before you buy so you have some comparison .
strictly one mans opinion _________________ happy nookie, cause ya cant have a good day with mad nookie !!!!!

Thanks fuxton! I definately plan to try out as many guitars as I can before I buy one. And now I will also pay attention to the neck . _________________ 'The gift of death metal does not smile upon the good-looking.' |

Well, I did it. I bought my first own bass! It's a kind of standard model, a Fender MIM Jazz-bass. The sound is much much better than the other brands I tried and the bass I was playing on before.... so, I'm happy with it . _________________ 'The gift of death metal does not smile upon the good-looking.' |

congratulations
fender makes great guitars an basses , the mini jazz, im not familiar with
but im sure it great if its what felt good to you.
did ya get the bass pack ? it comes with an amp, strap ,strings , tuner and an instruction book .
now comes the real fun of playing bass , the scales, modes an learning each notes name at each fret on every string , dont let it intimidate you
its not that goaway , but it is important if you wish to continue to learn an play music
"may the gift of death metal shine on you" ahahahahahahahahahahahaha
[whatever that means, dude!" _________________ happy nookie, cause ya cant have a good day with mad nookie !!!!!

Thanks! I didn't get a pack, because when I borrowed a bass from my friend I already bought an amp and strap etc. So now I have everything I need so far. Oh and I already bought an instruction book back then, which I went through in a couple of weeks. Right now I'm training my left hand and learning scales etc., mostly using exercises from www.cyberfretbass.com. Also, I'm already part of a starting band, so I'm learning all kinds of songs as well.[/url] _________________ 'The gift of death metal does not smile upon the good-looking.' |
