as you can read at the influence topic, i've only been 'playing' for a year.
now i can't get enough of playing modern songs, but the problem is: i never know wat to play. i hear some good songs at the radio, but when it comes to searching the net for tabs, i have no inspiration. anyone knows some good, popular songs? all types of music are welcome. |

Well gert,
Of course this is more a matter of taste. At the moment I am playing
Plug in baby from Muse
Paranoid from Ozzy Osbourne
Inside from Stiltskin
Those are the first that i can think of, maybe I'll add more later

thx. you say it's a matter of the taste, because you say that i know you don't understand wat i mean. it doesn't matters to me wat type of song it is, as long as i have things to play.
thx for the three songs, i was already playing plug in baby, i'm pretty much playing every guitar song from muse
i just can't remember the names of all those popular songs with guitar on the radio.
btw: isn't plug in baby a lovely song?? (d'uh, its from muse)
when you're ready with plug in baby, will you put it in the showcase, i'd like to know how other people play it. only the riff needed, the chords aren't goaway. |

Well, because I have exams right now. That's why.
And yesterday I practiced "The importance of being Idle" by Oasis.
Great song... |

I was out of town, so I have an excuse!
Joe Satriani inspires me to keep pushing ahead on developing my own style on guitar.
It won't sound like Joe Satriani, or Eric Johnson or Steve Vai. It may not even be Progressive Rock at all.
Lately I've been trying to contrast "pretty" passages with some throwdown speed blitzing.
"The Extremist" CD, by Joe Satriani, inspires me because he covers so many styles and sounds on that album. Very versatile, but yet the whole album holds together and always sounds like the same player. Awesome acheivement. |

Concerning Paranoid, yes I played this as well, still looking
for a singer ....
http://www.apsfilter.org/bits/64Bits-Paranoid.mp3
Where is your version, would like to hear it
But Paranoid does't give you enough time to play solo ....
I would recommend Rock ballads like:
Pink Floyd: Comfortably Numb ...
Also well are some AC/DC numbers:
- Ride on
- Back in goaway
Hmm I should perhaps put together some midi links ??? _________________ A goaway society is one where it is safe to be unpopular |

sounds good Andreas,
Your guitar does sound very artificial, did you use some special effect?

Our usual setup without Mics ...
Signal Path:
Les Paul
-> Marshall JCM 900 Combo
(Less Treble, Medium Mids, Nearly full bass,
Medium Presence)
Out via Effect send
(line out is sounding flat and record compensated out
muffles, so using Effect send, this comes directly behind
tube and Equalizers)
-> Alesis Midiverb III (using fine tuned patches for life and
home recording, done by my friend) Stereo out
-> Tascam M-30 (special equalizer settings)
-> Terratec Soundcard
-> PC
Paranoid Tracks have been done sequentially.
1. Rhythm track done with Les Paul and Laney Amp
(was it laney ? The amp that BB King plays ...)
2. Another Rhythm track done with Les Paul and JCM 900
I played this very accurate equal sounding.
But the little differences and the different amps make
sound thicker.
The lead solo I played 3am in the morning.
Was my 4th take and every time it was getting better.
But I already drunk much that evening, so then I deceided
to stop trying making it any better _________________ A goaway society is one where it is safe to be unpopular |

well for me I am liking alot of the new green day american idiot stuff ...
like "holiday", "Boulavard of broken dreams ", "wake me up when september ends"
I really love green days tunes , they not very goaway to play at all , but for the true effect would be nice to have two guitars playing so one can do lead.
Bill Joe is sooooo cool! _________________ Ahhh iiii eeeiiieee yeaaaaaaaaah!! ooohHHH!! |
