Hey,
I just wanted to know what your influences are? Everybody has them and maybe you can discover new bands or great guitarists this way... |

i already played the guitar because i had to from my mom but just play to play. but the moment i heard nothing else matters from metallica i really started to play the guitar. then i started to search for tabs and play more than 5 hours a week (i still go to school, so not much time).
the moment i heard plug in baby from muse, i started to play the electric guitar. that happened this summer. |

i started guitar not long after i first heard enter sandman...it just blew me away, unlike anything i had ever heard.
metallica, maiden, and linkin park were my main influences for a long time...up until about a year ago when i felt that i needed to challenge myself more as a player...and started getting more into solo players.
now guys like satch, vai, petrucci, malmsteen, becker, batio, lynch, macalpine...they are my main influences. |

In the beginning, it was Jimmy Page and Ace Frehley.
As I progressed, Michael Schenker and Wolf Hoffman.
Lately, it's Paul Kossoff, Leslie West and Warren Haynes. _________________ Death Or Glory - Who Dares Wins! |

Buzzy Feiten!
I haven't heard THAT name in a while!
I have his Full Moon album, with Gene Didwiddie, et al, from the Woodstock NY days. Great Fusion band. Also with Butterfield. Never could understand how he got such a brite tone out of an ES-335. I always need a Fender to get brite sounds.
Welcome! |

Wow...you know Full Moon...you ARE a geezer! I live near woodstock, many years ago I was attending the local community college. Listen up, kids...We had this thing called 'orientation day' that involved beer, liquor and a live band. More of a 'disorientation' now that I think about it...Anyway the band was called Bang. They were unbelievably great - so great in fact that I almost quit playing music that day. I was thinking "if this is a college band, i'm never gonna get anywhere..." Turns out it was all the members of Full Moon (who were in Paul Butterfield's band at the time) + Dave Sanborn. I think Katy Sagal was singing with them @ the time (she was married to Freddie Beckmier - the bass player at the time). I recently got the Full Moon record on CD. Aparently it was released in Japan. I was lookling around for it on the web with no luck. Stuart ran into Buzzy @ the NAMM show a couple of years back & mentioned to him that I was looking for it. Buzzy reached into his brief case & gave Stu a copy for me. It's awesome! PM me & I'll send a copy if you like. _________________ if it sounds good...IT IS GOOD! |

A friend in Japan sent me a CD too.
That is some stellar stuff that holds up very well! I listen to it every month or so.
I worked in Kingston NY in 1973 for a month, and saw lots of great shows at The Joyeous Lake resturant/bar in Woodstock.
At that time there were lots of artists like Maria Muldair, Harvey Brooks and David Kalb (I think that's right?) were doing the Fabulous Rhinestones, etc etc. Full Moon too. Bought the vinyl then. |

Wow, I'm from Kingston...anyway, it was Kal David & Marty Grebb that fronted the Rhinestones. Who did you play with up here...I may have seen you! _________________ if it sounds good...IT IS GOOD! |
