i bought myself an mp3 player today, and i quickly recorded some songs this evening. just click the link and choose between:

thunderstruck (i played it with 1 hand in the air)
the groove
paradise city
sweet child o' mine

and if the link isn't working, like previous time, just search for interceptor6

the link:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=588225

just tell me what you think, and where i could do better and how.

Gert, I think thunderstruck is played with alternate picking in the right hand, I posted this elsewhere.

I hope you don't mind if I embellish and make some suggestions. I had a student that wanted to play this so I copped it to teach him. This is what's called a "pedal", it consistantely plays a open "B" note throughout the riff. The riff is played only on the "B": string, there are no hammer on's nor pull offs. The right hand plays 16th notes the entire time, with alternate picking. Start by playing 16th notes on the "B" string, untill they are smooth and even sounding. If someone is really interested, ask for a tab and I will write one. I did this on my acoustic as my amp is @ the theater.

Yeah, on the album Angus plays it with alternate picking all through...

Live he tends to legato it though. Just because it looks cool with 1 hand in the air. Smile

how do you like the other ones?
i'll post classical gas from mason williams soon, i think i'm gonna record it this evening. thx for telling me, and no, i want you to embellish!! :p

i'm gonna put classical gass (mason williams) and phantom of the opera (iron maiden) on it now. it's been like 3 months i played phantom of the opera, there are many faults, even a place where i forgat what chords to play, just ignore the faults.

It doesn't sound like Europa to me, it sounds more like that song by Gary Moore.

Hehe, actually I told him it was 'still got the blues' about a month ago, and he sure was thrilled... Very Happy. I let my dad listen to it and he recognized it.

Hey Gert, I just had a quick listen to your songs, sounds good. The recording quality is not so great, so classical gas and phantom of the opera sounded like a big blur to me, maybe because I listened to them streaming from the site. Anyway, keep having fun and practicing!

Hehe I know, we used to record some songs during band-practice using a digital photocamera, sounded horrible. Now we can use my boyfriend's minidisc thing, with a real mic and it sounds much much better! So maybe if you know someone with a minidisc walkman that can record you can borrow it.
