hi there,

We started a thread like this before but it got deleted due to the mistake of one of the moderators

But this was quite a cool idea so I'm starting it again.

If goaway wasn't a problem, wich guitar and equipment would you buy?

OK It was me but I'd order me a very large marshal stackactually 8 of them just like the Who when they played at Leeds with a 58 Strat, Ginger Baker on behind me on drums Bootsie from James Brown band on Bass and that crazy guy who plays the big Gibson from AC/DC with an outdoor stadium.louis

That would be a VERY nice setup mann.

What have i got now:

-the RW strat (heavily modified ESP strat)
-A Laney tubeamp,( which sounds in between the marshall and vox, so thats fine enough for now)
-A decentable Acoustic
-The tonebender fuzz, Crybaby, Danecho (which is the best echo for under 500$), T-rex møller, EHX pulsar (which is good since it has different voicings)

So im on my way, and actually im very satisfied with my gear as it is at the moment!

Hey Garne where is your wha-wha peddle.louis PS I tired a Sparrow solid 1 piece electric guitar yesterday for abouth 1 1/2 hours its a new company here in BC, kinda of a cross between PRS and Gibson for feel with a soild 1 peice body and neck looks like a double truss rod system played through a York 65 Watt Amp and was asked by some young guys why I played so loud( never told that before by young guys 20 something)fingers are sore as ever mostly play acoustic these days Rolling Eyes

OK I'm getting a little older now, but I sure enjoyed playing my version of Stairway to heaven,Cold Shot by Stevie Ray Vaughnn and so forth ah to play music to bad I cant do it 24/7.louis Smile

Gibson SG without a doubt due to its weight and the amp would be the best currently available one i could get. Also some effect pedals or whatever they use nowadays.....its been 20 years since i owned an electric guitar! Sean

i wouldn't really care about the guitar. i'm used to this one, so why not just keep it? (btw: i replaced my strings for the first time yesterday, i looove the new sound) but what i would like is a good amplifier and all sorts of pedals, so i can put way more effect in my playing. i can't even play distortion with this smart 3 model.
i have no idea about names, and i don't care either. what do the names matter, i just want something goood.

I kinda agree with you, but i first had the experience when I played an other electric guitar some weeks ago, that the feeling was really incredibly different. I could just play way faster on this other guitar! And, besides the sound, thats also why you'd want to have a different guitar...

I guess -goaway no object- a nice Gibson L-5 Jazz guitar, or maybe a Super 400, would be nice.
I'd be afraid to take 'em to the joints I play though.

Maybe I should opt for an acoustic archtop version of those for just couch noodling, and keep my Strat for the clubs (or to use as a club)!
