thats for lazy people//

seriously , half the fun is tuning it Smile

eventually people arent gonna know how to tune a guitar

as it is I have met tons of ppl that cant tune by ear.

they should learn old school methods , wear you hear the note on a piano or other , then tune or e string , the tune the rest from that.

most of the time standard tuning and Dropped D is more than enough for most music.

Though I think its a good idea I doubt to ever use such "beast" Wink

Would you ever modify an expensive guitar this way ?
You loose wood and can't reverse the modification.

At best you only would buy it along with a new good sounding guitar.

you got a point there Andreas,

it is a nice invention but you have to scar your guitar to
install it.

Matt.

btw: long time no see, good to see you're still around Andreas Smile

i've also been gone for a week (theathercamp) but i'm back now. your right, it's stupid people aren't even able to tune their guitar on what they hear. i don't even need anything to compare with, if i play my low E (6th string) i mostly hear if it's good, not perfectly, but it works pretty well. i think everyone should practice it, cuz when you're able to hear right things, you're also able to analyse more songs and be able to easely play on what you hear, even hear the difference between a E and a B in 5th position. (just an example).
